Revopoint POP 4 Raises Over $2.6 Million on Kickstarter

Revopoint POP 4 Raises Over $2.6 Million on Kickstarter
In the 30 days since, over 3300 backers have pledged over $2.6M for Revopoint POP 4.

That's the Point

The 3D scanner market has, for years, forced a frustrating choice: buy a blue-laser scanner that excels on small, detailed objects, or buy an infrared structured-light scanner that handles larger subjects. Revopoint's bet with the POP 4 is that you shouldn't have to choose.

The POP 4 ships with five distinct scanning modes — switchable depending on the subject. Blue laser for fine surface detail. For challenging materials and outdoor conditions where most structured light scanners are effectively useless in direct sunlight, the POP 4 is not.

"I've been scanning car panels outside in full sunlight," wrote one beta tester in a community update. "The blue light filter actually works. I didn't think it would."

AI That Actually Does Something.

Revopoint has built in AI-powered object segmentation and cleanup, which means the software can distinguish your subject from the turntable, the background, and the inevitable scanning artifacts without you manually masking everything. For anyone who has spent an hour cleaning up a scan in post, this is not a small thing.

The POP 4 has also integrated 3D Gaussian Splatting — a rendering technique that originated in academic computer vision research and has since become the substrate for some of the most photorealistic 3D reconstructions being produced today. Its presence in a sub-$1,000 consumer device would have been unthinkable three years ago.

What $2.6 Million in Crowdfunding Actually Means

Revopoint has shipped multiple prior generations of the POP line, which gives it more credibility than a first-time crowdfunder, but the obligation is still to ship.

What the number signals is demand that the market hadn't fully articulated. These are people — makers, engineers, automotive restoration enthusiasts, medical device designers, digital artists — who believes in Revopoint and decided this was worth investment before the product was even in production.

Revopoint has been building toward this for several product generations. The POP 3 Plus established the platform. The POP 4 is the first version where the technology stack feels genuinely coherent rather than additive.
