FAQ
The MINI has a single frame precision of up to 0.02mm
Up to ten frames per second.
MINI uses class 1 blue structured light and advanced algorithms to output detailed 3D models of small objects.
A computer with an i5 and 8GB of ram is fine for the MINI. However, to reduce the processing time, an i7 and 16GB of ram or better will help.
Yes, the MINI comes with Revo Scan for free. It is compatible with iOS, macOS, Android, and Windows devices. In addition, Revopoint offers Revo Studio for post-processing.
Scanning software is free. It can be downloaded from Revo's website.
Yes, an STL file can be directly imported to 3D printing slicer software.
Yes, the model scanned by MINI could be exported in OBJ format, compatible with most design software, such as Autodesk CAD, Maya, Blender, Rhino, Zbrush, fusion 360, etc.
No, MINI is only compatible with Revo Scan software, which you can download from our website or your device's app store. However, the models generated by the scan are compatible with nearly all third-party 3D model post-processing software.
Revo Scan can export your models in PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, 3MF, GLTF and FBX.
You can send the projects on your phone to a PC. Ensure your phone and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Don’t minimize the app or turn off your phone’s screen during the file transfer, or the transfer will fail.
1) Open Revo Scan (PC) and click the New Project button on the Homepage.
2) Click the Import from Phone option in Revo Scan (PC)’s File menu.
3) Pick either the PIN code or the QR code transfer method.
4) Open Revo Scan (Mobile) and find the project to be transferred.
5) Tap the More button > Share icon in Revo Scan (Mobile).
6) Enter the PIN code or scan the QR code.
7) Start the file transfer.
Yes, Revo Scan does not need to be connected to the internet to work.
Yes, the dual-axis turntable, S1 handheld stabilizer, 2-in-1 USB cable, mobile phone holder, marker points, etc., can all aid your scanning.
The dual-axis turntable A230 has a 360° 2RPM rotation clockwise or counterclockwise and ±30° tilt. It's designed to make accurate cloud point acquisition even more accessible by removing the need to adjust the object's position when scanning.
The S1 Handheld Stabilizer is equipped with a built-in high-precision gyroscope and stabilization device, and it can effectively eliminate the problem of poor point cloud precision and track loss. This allows for smooth scanning without stalling.
Marker points are stuck to objects without geometric features so the MINI can track what it is scanning. When using Marker points, place them in irregular patterns with around 3-5cms between the markers across the object you’re scanning, and make sure that there are at least 5 marker points always in frame when scanning.
No, repeated scanning is not good for accuracy. One scan at a close distance to the object will result in the best accuracy.
For transparent and highly reflective objects, you need to use scanning spray.Multiple scans and post-processing are needed for objects larger than 500 x 500 x 500mm.
Sorry. With blue light technology, outdoor scanning is not recommended. However, the MINI works when the sun goes down.
The minimum scanning dimension we recommended for MINI is 10 x 10 x 10mm.
Yes, but advanced scanning skills and post-process are needed. For further information, please check this link: https://forum.revopoint3d.com/t/revopoint-mini-paperclip-challenge/16195
