Revopoint Unveils RANGE 3 Series, Making Large-Scale 3D Scanning More Accessible and Efficient

Recently launched, the RANGE 3 Series is designed for medium-to-large object scanning, from automotive parts and industrial equipment to full-body digitization. Starting at $369, the series offers two models weighing just 218–220 g. Both feature a wide single-frame capture area of up to 687 × 672 mm at 1,000 mm, a maximum scanning volume of 4 × 4 × 4 m, and a working distance of 200–1,000 mm in VCSEL mode, making large-scale 3D scanning more accessible and efficient.

RANGE 3: Efficient Large-Scale Scanning with Advanced Capture Capabilities

The standard RANGE 3 is designed for users who need an efficient and accessible solution for digitizing medium-to-large objects. Its VCSEL infrared structured-light technology projects high-density speckle patterns to capture depth data at speeds of up to 30 FPS, enabling smooth and efficient scanning of larger subjects.

With a minimum scan size of 30 × 30 × 30 mm, RANGE 3 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including product modeling, full-body scanning, cultural heritage documentation, and on-site object digitization. It also supports surface feature and color-based tracking, helping maintain alignment by combining surface features with color information.

The RANGE 3 Series features RGB cameras, dual RGB fill lights, and dual depth fill lights to capture color and texture alongside geometry. The series also supports ambient light levels of up to 100,000 lux without an additional light-filtering attachment, making it suitable for scanning in bright workshops and outdoor environments.

RANGE 3 Pro: High-Speed Laser Scanning Without Markers

For users who need more detailed scanning capabilities, RANGE 3 Pro builds on the VCSEL technology of the standard model by adding an 11-line infrared laser mode. Operating at a working distance of 200–600 mm, this mode captures finer geometric details with a volumetric accuracy of 0.03 mm + 0.2 mm × L(m). With NVIDIA GPU acceleration, scanning speeds reach up to 105 FPS in marker tracking mode, making it well suited for industrial parts, mechanical components, and reverse-engineering workflows.

In addition, RANGE 3 Pro supports markerless tracking in laser line mode, using geometric features and color-assisted alignment to track an object's position across frames. For objects with few distinctive geometric features, such as cylindrical vases, the scanner can leverage rich surface colors and textures to identify corresponding areas and maintain alignment during scanning. It can also use an object's geometric features for tracking in color scanning mode. This combination of feature-based tracking and color-assisted alignment allows users to scan a wider range of objects without applying physical markers, making it especially useful for finished parts, decorative objects, and delicate surfaces.

RANGE 3 Pro also supports Global Marker Tracking in laser line mode, providing an additional tracking option for applications that require marker-assisted alignment. Its AI-powered smart segmentation and cropping further simplifies post-processing by helping users isolate the target object and remove unwanted surrounding data. For smaller objects and detailed work, the laser line mode supports a minimum object size of 20 × 20 × 20 mm.

Wireless Freedom and a Connected 3D Workflow

With Wi-Fi 6, both models support wireless scanning for greater freedom of movement. RANGE 3 Pro includes a magnetic phone holder and a battery grip offering up to 3 hours of continuous power; these accessories are optional for the standard RANGE 3.

The series also supports 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), transforming point cloud and RGB data into photorealistic models exportable in SPLAT file format. A built-in measurement tool allows users to check distances and deviations directly within point cloud, mesh, texture, or 3DGS models. The workflow integrates with the Revopoint software ecosystem, including Revo Scan 6, Revo Measure, and Revo Design.
