Revopoint's 2024 Achievement in 3D Scanning

Revopoint's 2024 Achievement in 3D Scanning

As 2024 ends, it’s a great time to reflect on what Revopoint has achieved in our most productive year yet, with 4 product launches, a successful Kickstarter campaign, many trade shows, impact across industries, and a myriad of software updates.

Updates and Innovations

We sprinted into the new year fresh off the success of the MIRACO 3D scanners launch in December and were ready to release updates to two of our popular product lines in the first quarter of 2024.

First out the gate was the Revopoint MINI 2, a big upgrade from its predecessor, offering enhanced small object scanning capabilities. Its enlarged capture area, longer scanning distance, and faster scanning speeds gave it a new versatility beyond just the smallest objects. Its connectivity was also completely refreshed, adding USB-C and Wi-Fi 6 for quicker and easier connections.

Next up was the RANGE 2, again offering better connectivity, even larger capture areas, small stabilization, and a new LED lighting system for improved large object color scans.

Into the third quarter, POP 3 Plus trotted out with improved accuracy and speed, as well as a groundbreaking optical projector zoom that enhanced the scanner’s ability to capture an object's finer details.

Then, we saw the release of the world’s first standalone photogrammetric capture system, the MIRACO Plus. It was an all-around upgrade with its better accuracy, faster scanning speed, and optical projector zoom. However, the real star is the included Photogrammetric Metrology Kit, which works together with the MIRACO Plus to capture large objects like vehicles or industrial machinery with high volumetric accuracy.

In the final quarter, Revopoint’s most important project of the year arrived: MetroX’s Kickstarter campaign. This hybrid blue laser and the full-field structured light 3D scanner’s 4 powerful scanning modes offered a previously unseen level of scanning versatility in one device. And with over 2,700 backers, it successfully wrapped up the year’s launches.

Revo Scan’s Evolution

Revo Scan has had another massive year of updates driven by user feedback, including a brand-new version launched just for MetroX. Rather than list the hundred changes made, we’ll go over a few, like the addition of the Global Marker mode (supported by every Revopoint 3D scanner except the original POP), which provided a new, more volumetric-accurate way of performing Marker scans.

Or Key Frame Editing, which lets users delete and edit individual raw point cloud frames before performing fusion for cleaner, more accurate scanning results. Along with the big changes, many smaller changes were also made, like adding a smoothing brush for easy spot smoothing and surface properties settings to let users change the 3D model’s surface style and color.

Revopoint Across Industries

This year, our technology has helped professionals envision new possibilities and raise standards in ways that impact real lives.

Transforming Pediatric Cardiology

At Chicago Children’s Hospital, Dr. Rohit Lomba uses the MINI 2 and MIRACO scanners to create accurate cardiac 3D models, aiding in complex surgical planning and improving pediatric cardiology healthcare outcomes. Dr. Lomba shared, "Using Revopoint’s technology, we’ve been able to visualize intricate cardiac structures in ways we never thought possible. It’s a game-changer in terms of surgical preparation and precision."

Dream Custom Rides

Tofu Auto Works is an automotive designer that creates unique vehicle modifications. He uses MIRACO to streamline his projects and ensure his parts fit perfectly. He says, "The scanner itself is incredibly intuitive. I am not really a tech person, but even I could figure out how to use it."

Smiles That Bling

Dental accessory designer Grillz Germany creates custom teeth grillz for those who want their smiles to be memorable. He remarks, "The precision of MINI 2 has revolutionized my creative process. It’s like having an artist’s brush that never misses a stroke."

21st Century Learning

Sören Tanneberger integrated the MINI 2 in his reverse engineering and rapid prototyping courses at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik University to ensure his students have the skills to thrive in Industry 4.0. "Students scanned tools and created custom-designed holders," he says on LinkedIn. "This hands-on learning approach has sparked creativity and equipped students with essential skills for their future careers."

The Biggest Design Award in the Industry

We were delighted when the Revopoint MIRACO’s game-changing quad camera systems’ small to large object capture and standalone design with full scanning and editing capabilities on one device snagged itself a Best of the Best Red Dot Design Award for its industry-changing impact.

Globe Spanning Trade Shows

From RAPID+TCT to Formnext to SEMA and everything in between, we showcased how our latest product could be used in various applications, met our customers, and showed attendees that getting pro-level 3D models no longer needs to cost tens of thousands of dollars. We liked it so much that we will do it all over again, and we hope to see even more of you at next year’s trade shows.

Final Scanning Challenge of the Year

We invite you to join our exciting Revo Scan 5 Challenge this holiday season! Join us in celebrating the power of 3D scanning and showing the world how this transformative technology can bring your ideas to life.

That’s a wrap on 2024. As always, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your support throughout the year. We especially want to thank beta testers and all our media and KOL partners for their invalua ble contributions. Thank you to all media partners and KOC partners for their support!Your trust and feedback are the driving force behind all our endeavors. We look forward to continuing this journey with you in the coming year.
